Based in Oakland, California, the Made In A Free World team engages with individuals and businesses to build awareness and action against modern-day slavery. We provide consumers with an opportunity to have a deeper conversation with the companies that manufacture the good they purchase and use in their daily lives. We provide businesses with a way to investigate their supply chains for slave labor. Our collective goal is to use the free market to free people.

To date, Made In A Free World has created two innovative platforms that empower individuals to demand products made without slave labor. MIAFW’s award winning survey at SlaveryFootprint.org answers the question “How many slaves work for you?” Once consumers see their connection to modern-day slavery, they are encouraged to take action through our Online Action Center and “Free World” Mobile App. These platforms are outlets to amplify the momentum in the marketplace for products made without forced labor.
